Merry Christmas Eve Managers! Round 2 has finished, so let’s see what happened.
#5 Isaac (8-6) 163.72 - 96.78 #1 Sudais (10-4)
DOWN GOES #1! Isaac claims another strong victory over #1! And Puka Nacua was the biggest reason why! He dropped a 46.5 point nuke on Sudais! George Kittle also had 24.5, RJ Harvey had 22.1, the kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn had 17.4, and Jonathan Taylor had 16.9 (despite being projected for 24). There weren’t many bad performances on Isaac’s team. Quinshon Judkins only had 10.1. Patriots Defense/ST predictably had only 5 points. But the biggest letdown was Jaxson Dart, only scoring 0.02 points! Isaac must be glad it didn’t come down to that performance.
A dominant season comes to an end for the #1 team in the land, Sudais. Jordan Love was added to attempt to replace Patrick Mahomes, but he only dropped 3.78 points before suffering a concussion. De’Von Achane scored 18 (despite being projected for 24.8). Zach Charbonnet was able to surprise with 17.4 points. Ja’Marr Chase and Jaxson Smith-Njigba combined for 43.5 points. But Travis Kelce could not do much with Gardner Minshew as his QB, only scoring 1.6 points. Deebo Samuel disappointed with 6.5. The Chargers Defense/ST only had 4 points. And Jason Meyers only had 2 points. To be frank, there was no beating Isaac. No amount of decision-making would’ve saved Sudais’ season. But that’s how Fantasy Football works out sometimes.
#2 Luke (10-4) 96.86 - 75.98 #6 Patrick (6-8)
A low-scoring affair goes Luke’s way to send him to the finals! Jahmyr Gibbs bounced back from last week and had 22.8 points. Dak Prescott had 19.16 and Travis Etienne Jr. had 16.6. And even though these weren’t eye-popping numbers, Jameson Williams had 12 points. In low-scoring affairs, every point matters. So the modest contributions from Michael Pittman Jr., Jordan Addison, Broncos Defense/ST, Tyler Loop, and Jake Ferguson were all enough to push Luke over the finish line.
A week after dropping a league-high 180+ points, Patrick follows it up with one of the lowest scoring performances. And it came at a terrible time. A perfect storm turned into the perfect nightmare. But that is the fear when you drop a high-octane week, and it reigns true again this week. There’s not much to look at in terms of performances. C.J Stroud had 11.48 and Justin Jefferson had 14.5. And yet those were the only two double-digit performances. Amon-Ra St. Brown only had 9.4 points despite being projected for 21.3! And the star tight end Trey McBride dropped his lowest point total this season with only 6.7 points. And TreVeyon Henderson only had a whopping 2.2 points. Most of the guys on Patrick’s team had season-high totals last week, and this week had some of the lowest in their season. Patrick’s stars vanished when he needed them the most. But it was a good run for the league’s rookie.
Looking Ahead…The Playoffs: Championship
Let’s look at the updated bracket:

#2 Luke (10-4) vs. #5 Isaac (8-6)
And it all comes down to this. For Luke, it has been a dream season. A total turn-around from last season. And he’s one game away from making it the perfect turn-around. Can Jahmyr Gibbs deliver a big time performance for Luke? For Isaac, he trusted his gut mid-season and didn’t make any trades after suffering injuries, and it has paid off. But can he win one more week? Can Puka Nacua possibly drop another jaw-dropping performance?
This is what the season is all about. And it will be settled in a few days.
Reminders and Fine Print
Every playoff team has earned the ability to send in one punishment they would like to see Ryan do, which will be added to the Wheel will be spun at the Super Bowl Party that decides which punishment Ryan has to perform! You can start sending them in to me, but they need to be reasonable. For guidance, we discussed that punishments that are not permanent (e.g. a tattoo), will not leave a digital footprint (e.g. something that will cost them their future job), and are not overly embarassing. Further criteria may be added as necessary. As comissioner, the punishment that you submit will be reviewed by me and determined if it is suitable to put on the wheel. You have a lot of time to submit them, but I’d ask that you’d do it sooner rather than later, that way I have time to check them and reach back out in case I need you to send another one that’s more suitable.
Thank you for being in this league.
