It’s a new year in Fantasy Football, and we are in our 2nd official year of the league (as our first year really was just a trial run). With everyone now having more experience under their belt, I am anticipating the competition to be as electric as ever.

Out with the old, in with the new.

This year, we had to say goodbye to one of our managers Luke Chapman. Contributing very little to the league being last in the league in his first year, and following that up with, although starting off great, one of the worst trades of all time with Isaac Fain that set in stone him once again being last on the league. Some of us may miss him, others may not, but one thing is for sure: being last in THIS league is now wide open for anyone.

We welcome Patrick to the league this year as a replacement for him!

New Rules for 2025-2026

On Wednesday, July 23rd, we celebrated Isaac’s birthday and also held the Managers Meeting, where we discussed and voted on new rule proposals for the upcoming season. As a reminder, these are the new rules that are in effect:

Press Conference

  • The lowest scoring team each week must record a video of themselves discussing what went wrong and how they will be trying to fix it. They will also have to answer questions from fellow managers that are submitted in the video. If you choose not to record the video or send a video that does not cover all required topics and questions, you will be deducted -10 points in your matchup the following week. And we all know how much each point matters. More details on how this will work are coming soon.

+1 I/R Spot

  • You all will now have an additional I/R spot on your roster for this season.

Revised Kicker Scoring system

  • Instead of the default ESPN kicker scoring, we have decided to change kicker scoring to a decimal system where, for example, a 56 yd FG will score 5.6 points, instead of just 5. This has effectively made kickers slightly more valuable than an average league, so keep that in mind.

Knowing Draft Picks earlier

  • You all voted on knowing draft picks earlier as opposed to drawing them right before the draft started, so we decided to draw the picks after the meeting ended.

  • If you need a reminder:

  1. Sudais

  2. Ryan

  3. Luke

  4. Isaac

  5. Eric

  6. Patrick

  7. Mohit

  8. Caden

  9. Johnathan

  10. Carson

Change in the winner of the league

  • Perhaps the biggest talking point of that night, and one that ended in the closest vote out of all the rule proposals, you all voted 5-4 in favor of changing the winner of the league from the regular season winner (most wins in the regular season) to the playoffs winner. As commissioner, I disagree with your ruling as I indicated in the vote but I respect democracy and I welcome the change.

Overview of the League

For those who need a refresher on how this league works, including the new rules…

Winner of the League

As previously mentioned, the winner of the league is whoever wins the playoffs at the end of the season. The winner will recieve a jersey of their choice paid by the league dues of everyone else (so even though you won, say thank you to everyone in the league). They will also recieve a ring, paid for by the commissioner.

Playoffs

The top 6 teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the playoffs. The top 2 teams will recieve a first round bye.

Each playoff team will get to submit one punishment they’d like to see the loser of the league face (with approval from the commissioner).

Loser of the League

The loser of the league is whoever finishes last in the regular season.

The loser will face a punishment that will be decided by taking the six punishments submitted by the playoff teams, putting them on a wheel, and the loser will spin the wheel during our Super Bowl party, to which they will have to complete the punishment before the next season starts.

Regular Season Winner

The regular season winner will also receive a prize that will be later determined.

Managers can refer to ESPN to see the scoring rules, etc.

Looking ahead to Week 1…

Week one sees a matchup between the two teams that finished 1 and 2 in the regular season last season: Mohit vs. Eric. It’s only fitting that I name this the matchup of the week.

We also will see the rookie go up against the vet: Patrick vs. Carson in week one. This won’t be the only time they meet, however.

The rest of the matchups follow:

Isaac vs CadenRyan vs JohnnySudais vs Luke

A reminder that if you have not paid your league dues, you can pay $15 to @mohitt01p on Venmo. If you fail to do so before the first matchup, you will be immediately removed from the league.

Our draft is tentatively set for Saturday, August 23rd at 8:15 PM.

Fine Print

By participating in this league, you agree to follow the rules. The commissioner reserves the right to issue rulings regarding league matters so long as they don’t conflict with pre-existing rules or previously proposed, but rejected, amendments. These rulings include, but are not limited to: vetoing trades despite public vote, collusion, tanking, and inactivity.
