NOTE: Any rankings appearing before names in this edition refer to ESPN power rankings, not my own rankings nor the actual fantasy standings. Additionally, last week’s ranking will be used to recap the below matchups, and the new rankings will be used near the bottom where the Power Rankings and the preview for this week’s matchups are.

Happy Birthday to one of our managers, Carson! We hope it is a great day for you!

Managers, several injuries have occurred and it affected some managers for Week 2. Let's recap what happened.

Matchup of the week
#5 Sudais (2-0) 132.2 - 108.3 #4 Isaac (1-1)

After a shaky week 1 win, Sudais leaves no doubt in week 2 thanks to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, dropping an incredible 45.5 points! Jonathan Taylor added on with 29.2. Kyren Williams had 15.7 himself. The only dud on the team was the kicker Cameron Dicker with 1 point.

Isaac might hate Colston Loveland. He was excited to reunite with him on draft night, but so far he has not lived up to the expectations at all. After dropping 0 points, he followed it up with 1.3! And to make matters worse, Caleb Williams was injured and is now expected to miss some time. DeVonta Smith tried his best with 30.7 points, but a lack of production everywhere else led to his demise. Additionally, Isaac will have to answer to the press this week because he scored the lowest amount of points across all managers (by 0.3 points behind Mohit).

#3 Mohit (1-1) 108.58 - 149.68 #1 Johnny (2-0)

Another strong performance by Johnny's team this week. Patrick Mahomes had 31.98, Jahmyr Gibbs had 23.3, Chris Olave had 22.6, and Kenneth Walker III had 26.8. The only dud on his team was David Montogomery with 4.4. This is looking like a promising season for Johnny.

And it seems like just last season they way this week unfolded for Mohit. He lost out on Nico Collins before the week began due to a hamstring injury. And from there he was doomed. Bijan Robinson might hate the Falcons at this point, with Cooper Rush being the sole reason he only had 11.1 points. Derrick Henry did have 17.7 points. Luther Bureden failed to get a reception all the way until the last drive at the end of the game for the Bears, when the backup QB came in and Luther Burden was able to salvage 6.2 points. Sam LaPorta had 17.2, and Brock Purdy did have 28.48. But Mohit is hoping Nico comes back soon (preferably next week).

#10 Luke (1-1) 144.46 - 110.62 #9 Caden (0-2)

Luke was able to bounce back in a big way after Week 1, scoring 144 points! The only single digit performances he had were from the D/ST and kicker positions. Dak Prescott had 29.76. JaMarr Chase was able to bounce back with 26.5. Jake Ferguson had 20.3. The running backs Swift and Brown combined for 24.1 points. A great bounce back for Luke.

If it wasn't for Davante Adams' 42.5 points, Caden's team would've looked a LOT worse. Caleb Williams had 7.72 points, and now he is injured and could miss time. Not to mention his backup QB Jayden Daniels has a dislocated elbow. Cam Skattebo only managed to get 9.5 points. Tucker Kraft had only 3.5. Just a failure across the board for him. And the future looks very bleak for Caden unless he makes moves. Where does he go from here?

#6 Eric (1-1) 113.26 - 112.5 #2 Carson (1-1)

Wow. Eric was dead in the water coming into Monday Night Football. And somehow, someway, ended up with a win despite only scoring 113.26. The positives? Christian McCaffrey had 22.4, Trey McBride had 18.1, Brandon Aubrey had 16.9, and Chuba Hubbard had 14.4. But I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the negatives. DJ Moore had -0.1 points before leaving the game due to injury. Drake London had 8.9, although getting almost 9 points is impressive when Cooper Rush is your quarterback. I mean, a win is a win I guess.

Unbelievable. I usually pre-write these articles on Monday, starting with the most obvious outcomes. It seemed like Carson was obviously going to win. Going into Monday Night Football, Carson only needed ~2 points from Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers combined. Then the devastating news rolled in. And I had to rewrite this whole section. Jaxson Dart's leg gets injured and leaves the game. And the not so shortly after, Malik Nabers' shoulder gets injured and leaves the game. While Dart did not return, Nabers did. And at that point, Carson needed a little over 1 point. And Malik Nabers failed to catch a ball for the remainder of the game. An absolutely horrible way to lose. Saquon Barkley only had 3 points before missing some time with an injury. Ladd McConkey had 6.5. But on the bright side, Amon-Ra St. Brown exploded with 38.2 points, George Kittle had 18, and Panthers D/ST took advantage of Cooper Rush and UDFA Jack Strand and scored 24 points. But is there really a bright side of losing this week in that fashion? This is Fantasy Football.

Johnny's Thoughts: Going into monday night football I was really rooting for Eric not because I have anything against Carson and his team but because of all that moping Eric was doing in the group chat, I thought that wish would be impossible but clearly I underestimated truly how trash the giants franchise is. Unfortunately I underestimated both Eric and Carson when it came to the outcome of this week 2 game, now Erics ego is boosted, and Carsons the one moping around (but to be fair who wouldn't in his position). But who really cares, week 2 was obviously a fluke, except for my win of course, and week 3 is what really matters now. Good Luck, GG.

P.S. Happy birthday Carson!!!

#8 Ava (0-2) 125.02 - 152.38 #7 Ryan (1-1)

A great bounce back as well for Ryan. He was the highest-scoring manager this week! Matthew Stafford had almost 30 points, CeeDee Lamb had 38.3, and Harrison Butker had 16.5. Also, Sean Payton remembered that he's supposed to target Jaylen Waddle, who had 24.8. It did not matter that Ryan was forced into playing Travis Hunter, who had a donut.

Brutal luck to start the season for Ava. Josh Allen continues to orchestrate his MVP campaign, dropping 40.82 points! James Cook III had 23.9, Omarion Hamption had 17.5, and Tetairoa McMillan had 18.1. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough production from the rest of her team. Rome Odunze only had 7.3, Dallas Goedert had 1.4 before leaving the game due to injury, and Javonte Williams had 8 points. She'll have to just tip her cap to the other team and move on, and hope that luck steers her ship the other way eventually.

Lucky Rankings

Now introducing a new ranking engine that tries to quantify how “lucky” is team over a season. As the season moves on, the more refined and accurate this data becomes. A reminder that if you end up being the most lucky team, you will infact get a trophy for it.

The farther away from 0 you are, the more lucky/unlucky you are. Alternatively, the more greener/redder you are, the more lucky/unlucky you are. 0 is the baseline, meaning your record is exactly what is expected at that point.

On the Move...

A trade was completed Tuesday:

Carson receives:

RB Chase Brown
WR Christian Watson

Luke receives:

Saquon Barkley
Malik Nabers
DK Metcalf

Commissioner's opinion: Luke wins this trade, as the pieces he receives will fully supplement his roster. Carson does get a higher floor in the pieces he gets.

All-Play Standings

The All-Play Record is a record that shows what your cumulative record would be if your team played every other team each week.

This is an indicator that removes some of the luck involved in a head-to-head scheduling, where you play one team a week, and gives a more accurate picture of each team’s performance.

With that being said, these are the cumulative All-play Standings so far this season:

  1. Johnny - 16-2 (88.9%)
  2. Ryan - 13-5 (72.2%)
  3. Carson - 12-6 (66.7%)
  4. Ava - 11-7 (61.1%)
  5. Sudais - 10-8 (55.6%)
  6. Isaac - 7-11 (38.9%)
  7. Luke - 7-11 (38.9%)
  8. Mohit - 6-12 (33.3%)
  9. Eric - 6-12 (33.3%)
  10. Caden - 2-16 (11.1%)

Looking Ahead…

Matchup of the Week - #2 Sudais (2-0) vs. #1 Johnny (2-0)

A matchup of unbeatens. Can Johnny keep having great performances from his RBs. Or can Sudais pull of a win?

The other matchups are as follows:

#8 Mohit (1-1) vs. #6 Ryan (1-1)
#4 Carson (1-1) vs. #7 Luke (1-1)
#5 Isaac (1-1) vs. #3 Eric (1-1)
#9 Ava (0-2) vs. #10 Caden (0-2)

Reminders and Fine Print

Make sure you submit a question for Isaac to answer in his Press Conference! Each manager can submit a question, and the more people that send a question, the better. You’re limited to one question. You can send it in the fantasy group chat, or to someone else if you want it to be a surprise (to be clear, Isaac will know who sent what question, but the questions will not be revealed to him until close to when its time to answer them, giving him little to no time to prepare answers).

Thank you for being in this league.
