NOTE: Any rankings appearing before names in this edition refer to ESPN power rankings, not my own rankings nor the actual fantasy standings. Additionally, last week’s ranking will be used to recap the below matchups, and the new rankings will be used near the bottom where the Power Rankings and the preview for this week’s matchups are.
Let's recap what happened for Week 5:
Matchup of the week
#5 Luke (2-3) 119.94 - 133.2 #8 Ava (2-3)
The Bills duo continues to excel for Ava. Josh Allen had 33.5 points, and James Cook had 25.8! Aaron Jones Sr. was exceptional with 21.7! After a rough start to the season, Ava now has two straight wins.
Tough loss for Luke. Despite being projected for 11.4, RJ Harvey could only manage 0.7 points. Jake Ferguson continues his bad stretch wiht only 4.9 points. DK Metcalf disappointed with 5.3. On the bright side, Garrett Wilson and Malik Nabers combined for 58.5 points!
#10 Caden (1-4) 126.26 - 139.4 #3 Eric (3-2)
The only disappointed performance for Eric this week was Alvin Kamar with only 2.6 points. Besides that, Mike Evans had 29.3, Ja'Marr Chase had 19.7, Trey McBride had 21.6, and Drake London had 21.8.
Caden now drops to 1-4 and is in sole possession of last place. Cam Skattebo continues to disappoint with 7.1. Roman Wilson had 0 points before being injured. Tony Pollard only had 5.2. But there were some bright moments, as Jayden Daniels had 3[REDACTED].26, Davante Adams had 22.1, the Vikings D/ST had 13, and Spencer Shrader had 21.3! But it wasnt quite enough to defeat Eric.
#1 Johnny (5-0) 146.48 - 85.64 #9 Ryan (2-3)
Another week, another win for Johnny. Jahmyr Gibbs continues to amaze with 40.7, George Pickens bounced back in a big way with 31, Ka'imi Fairbairn had 17.9, the Broncos D/ST had 14 points. There were some holes but it didn't matter because of his opponent's performance. David Montgomery only had 1.1 points before leaving with injury, Chris Olave only had 8.6, Dalton Kincaid looked human with 3.7, and Tee Higgins had 4.2. But the booms were enough.
Ryan continues to trot only one RB out there, leaving his second RB slot empty (pay your league dues!). He also left his kicker Harrison Butker out there on a bye week. CeeDee Lamb struggled to score dealing with injury, only managing 2.9 points. Jaylen Waddle only had 4.8. Brock Bowers, however, had 26!
#2 Mohit (3-2) 142.54 - 182.4 #7 Isaac (2-3)
Isaac has now scored the highest amount of points in a week this season so far: an astonishing 182.7 points. Puka Nacua led the way with a 40.7 bomb. Bucky Irving reminded everyone who he was with 34.5. Parker Washington bounced back and had 33.4 points. The only disappointments he had were Jeremiyah Love with 2.2 and Colston Loveland 3.9.
The week was not meant to be for Mohit. He outscored 7 managers, but ran into the buzzsaw that was Isaac. Derrick Henry had 24, Sam LaPorta had 19.8, Jason Meyers had 25, and the Texans D/ST had 15. Nico impressed with 15.8 as well. Bijan Robinson slightly disappointed with 15.8, Luther Burden III had only 8.9, and Michael Wilson (fresh off of the Cardinals trading away Marvin Harrison Jr.) only had 7.28. Just got to tip your cap and move on.
#4 Sudais (2-3) 118.32 - 121.64 #6 Carson (3-2)
This was the closest matchup yet between the former rivals, but Carson reigns supreme. The key performances were C.J. Stroud with 20.94, Braelon Allen with 21.6, Christian Watson with an amazing 35.3, and Will Reichard with 16.9. He almost got burned with the Cowboys D/ST having -2 points, Carnell Tate with 1.6, and Chase Brown with 7.
Tough loss for Sudais. Jaylen Warren had an incredible 39.8 points. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 25.8. But that's the extent of good news. Raiders D/ST had -6 points, Harold Fannin Jr. had 1.4, Devaughn Vele had 6.6, and Jonathan Taylor only had 11.2.
Lucky Rankings
Now introducing a new ranking engine that tries to quantify how “lucky” is team over a season. As the season moves on, the more refined and accurate this data becomes. A reminder that if you end up being the most lucky team, you will infact get a trophy for it.
The farther away from 0 you are, the more lucky/unlucky you are. Alternatively, the more greener/redder you are, the more lucky/unlucky you are. 0 is the baseline, meaning your record is exactly what is expected at that point.

On the Move...
A trade was completed on Wednesday:
Caden receives:
Aaron Jones Sr.
Denzel Boston
Ava receives:
Cam Skattebo
DeVonta Smith
Commissioner's opinion: Ava wins this trade by a significant margin.

All-Play Standings
The All-Play Record is a record that shows what your cumulative record would be if your team played every other team each week.
This is an indicator that removes some of the luck involved in a head-to-head scheduling, where you play one team a week, and gives a more accurate picture of each team’s performance.
With that being said, these are the cumulative All-play Standings so far this season:
- Johnny - 42-3 (93.3%)
- Mohit - 29-16 (64.4%)
- Ava - 27-18 (60.0%)
- Carson - 22-23 (48.9%)
- Eric - 21-24 (46.7%)
- Ryan - 20-25 (44.4%)
- Isaac - 19-26 (42.2%)
- Sudais - 18-27 (40.0%)
- Luke - 14-31 (31.1%)
- Caden - 13-32 (28.9%)
Looking Ahead…
Matchup of the Week - #4 Carson (3-2) vs. #5 Isaac (2-3)
For Isaac, can Bucky Irving build off a great game. Can Puka Nacua continue his excellence? Can the River City Space Creator, Parker Washington, continue to excel?
For Carson, can he overcome his bye weeks and count on Tre Tucker and J.K Dobbins to over-perform?
The other matchups are as follows:
#9 Ryan (2-3) vs. #2 Eric (3-2)
#3 Mohit (3-2) vs. #8 Ava (2-3)
#6 Sudais (2-3) vs. #7 Luke (2-3)
#10 Caden (1-4) vs. #1 Johnny (5-0)
